Non-metallic grey with yellow to golden hairs. When at rest, it folds one wing over the other.

Over winter in attics, wall voids, door and window frames. It likes south facing areas.

to 29 days from egg to adult. In the spring, they lay their eggs
in soil crevices. Eggs hatch and larvae borrow in bodies of
earthworms where they develop.
