Appearance: Dirty white, pink or brown bodies.  Wings are burnished copper to purple colour with a broad grey band near where the wings are attached.

Size: 3/8 to 3/4 inches long with a wingspan of 5/8 of an inch.

Food: Flour, grain, dried fruit, nuts, chocolate, crackers and dried animal feed.

Nest: Silken, feces laden mat in contaminated food source or cracks or crevices near by.

Life cycle: They lay about 400 eggs in about 18 days with about 6 generations per year.

Length of life: 2 months

Treatment: Find source, intensive cleaning, chemical treatments to cracks and crevices and fumigation.
